Section 01

Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Tarteel House website and services.

By using our website, requesting a trial, purchasing lesson packages, or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

Section 02

Who we are

Tarteel House is operated by:

Ahmad Salik Fazely Trading as: Tarteel House
Address: Carrer de Tirana 19, Barcelona, Spain
Email: hello@tarteelhouse.com
Section 03

Who may book and use the service

Tarteel House is intended for parents or legal guardians arranging lessons for girls and boys aged 5 to 16. We do not currently offer adult classes.

By booking a trial or purchasing lessons, you confirm that:

  • you are at least 18 years old;
  • you are authorised to act for the child concerned;
  • the information you provide is accurate and up to date.
Section 04

Our service

Tarteel House provides online one-to-one Qur’an learning sessions for children aged 5 to 16. The free trial is 40 minutes, and every paid lesson is 40 minutes.

Service features may include:

  • trial sessions;
  • recurring online lessons;
  • teacher matching;
  • package-based pricing;
  • every two months, we invite parents to a 15-minute progress review. If a parent is unavailable or does not want a meeting, we send a visual progress report through WhatsApp instead;
  • scheduling and rescheduling options.

A certificate is issued only when the child has completed at least 30 lessons, completed an identifiable learning stage, and the teacher has confirmed completion of that stage. Purchasing a package alone does not qualify for a certificate.

Specific features, durations, pricing, and availability may change from time to time and will be described on the website or during booking.

Section 05

Trial sessions

We offer a free 40-minute trial session for new families.

A trial is offered to help the family assess fit and is subject to availability.

We reserve the right to:

  • limit one free trial per child or family;
  • decline or reschedule trial requests where necessary;
  • refuse repeated or abusive trial requests.

A trial does not guarantee continued availability of a specific teacher or time slot.

Section 06

Booking and teacher matching

Tarteel House matches the child with a suitable teacher based on language, level, learning needs, and scheduling availability. Parents do not directly select or reserve a specific teacher, but they may express a preference.

If a family is not satisfied with the teaching approach, it may request a teacher change. We will consider the request and propose another suitable teacher subject to availability.

We do not guarantee an immediate replacement, the same schedule, or that a requested teacher, language, day, or time will be available.

Section 07

Lesson packages, pricing, and payment

The current packages are €120 for 6 lessons, €220 for 12 lessons, and €400 for 25 lessons. Every package is valid for one year from the purchase date.

When you purchase a package, you are buying the number of lessons specified in that package and any stated included features.

After the free trial, Tarteel House confirms the suitable package and shares payment instructions or a secure payment link through WhatsApp. Paid lessons are scheduled after payment confirmation. The on-site payment system is not yet configured.

We may update prices from time to time, but changes will not affect packages already purchased unless clearly agreed.

Section 08

Scheduling and attendance

Sessions are arranged at agreed times between the family and Tarteel House.

You are responsible for attending on time and ensuring the child has:

  • a suitable device;
  • internet access;
  • a reasonably quiet learning environment.

If a parent gives at least 24 hours’ notice, the lesson is rescheduled. This does not use any make-up allowance.

If the teacher or Tarteel House cancels or changes a lesson, it is always rescheduled and never uses the family’s make-up allowance. Rescheduled lessons depend on teacher and family availability and may not be held at the original time.

The 6-lesson package has no make-up allowance for an absence without at least 24 hours’ notice. An unnotified or late-notice absence is counted as a used lesson.

The 12-lesson and 25-lesson packages each include up to four make-up lessons. These allowances may be used even when the child misses a lesson without prior notice. After all four allowances have been used, a further absence without at least 24 hours’ notice is counted as a used lesson.

Make-up allowances apply to missed scheduled lessons; they are not additional free lessons.

Section 09

Lesson environment and parental role

Parents or guardians remain responsible for the child’s welfare, supervision, and environment during online lessons.

For younger children especially, a parent or guardian should remain reasonably available during the session.

Tarteel House provides educational services only. We do not take on parental, medical, therapeutic, or childcare responsibilities.

Section 10

Conduct and respectful use

We expect respectful conduct from families, students, teachers, and staff.

You must not:

  • use the service for unlawful purposes;
  • record, copy, or redistribute lessons or materials without permission, except where clearly allowed;
  • behave abusively, threateningly, or disrespectfully toward teachers or staff;
  • misuse trial offers, payment systems, or scheduling arrangements;
  • upload or send harmful, illegal, or infringing material.

We may suspend or terminate access where necessary to protect children, teachers, staff, or the integrity of the service.

Section 11

Child safeguarding and communication

We aim to provide a respectful, child-appropriate educational environment with clear communication boundaries.

  • Scheduling, lesson links, progress communication, and service decisions are managed through a parent or guardian.
  • Teachers should not privately message a child outside a scheduled lesson without the parent or guardian’s prior permission and involvement.
  • Teachers, parents, and students must not exchange personal social-media accounts or unnecessary private contact information.
  • Lessons should take place using platforms approved by Tarteel House, normally Zoom or Google Meet.
  • Tarteel House does not record lessons by default.
  • No participant may record, photograph, screenshot, publish, or share lesson content without prior permission from the parent or guardian, the teacher, and Tarteel House where applicable.
  • Teachers and students are expected to behave respectfully and appropriately during lessons.
  • A parent or guardian may report a safeguarding or conduct concern through the official Tarteel House WhatsApp channel or hello@tarteelhouse.com.
  • When a serious concern is reported, Tarteel House may pause lessons while the matter is reviewed and decide what steps are appropriate before lessons continue.
Section 12

Refunds and cancellations

Payments are generally non-refundable once a package has started. Lessons already delivered, missed without the required notice, or cancelled late are not refundable. This policy does not affect any mandatory consumer rights that apply under EU law.

Section 13

Section 14

Website use and availability

We try to keep the website accurate and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We may update, suspend, withdraw, or change parts of the website or service at any time.

Section 15

Third-party services

We may rely on third-party providers for payments, communications, scheduling, hosting, analytics, or lesson delivery.

We are not responsible for outages, delays, or failures caused solely by third-party platforms outside our reasonable control, although we will try to manage issues fairly.

Section 16

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tarteel House will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the website or service.

Our total liability in relation to paid services will, to the fullest extent permitted by law, be limited to the amount you paid to us for the relevant package or service giving rise to the claim.

This does not affect mandatory consumer rights that cannot be limited by law.

Section 17

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the website or services where reasonably necessary, including for non-payment, repeated missed sessions, abusive conduct, safeguarding concerns, suspected fraud, or serious breach of these Terms.

You may stop using the service at any time, subject to any applicable payment, refund, or scheduling terms.

Section 18

Consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or reduce any mandatory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.

Section 19

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, unless mandatory consumer law in your customer’s place of residence provides otherwise.

The courts of Barcelona, Spain will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights that allow consumers to bring claims elsewhere.
