OUR TEACHERS
Tarteel House is built on the quiet care of a small group of female Qur’an teachers who teach girls and boys aged 5 to 16 online — chosen one at a time for Qur’anic depth and the patience to teach a child well.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Qualifications open the door. They are never enough on their own.
Every teacher we work with has a deep grounding in Qur’anic recitation and tajwid — most through years of study with recognised scholars or institutions. We ask about their teachers, their training, and the path that brought them here. The Qur’an deserves to be taught by people who carry it with care.
Teaching a five-year-old who is restless is a different discipline from teaching a sixteen-year-old who is ready. Our teachers are chosen for the particular calm needed for children — the willingness to repeat, to slow down, and to stay warm even when the lesson does not go as planned.
Lessons should not feel improvised. Our teachers know how to build a path forward — week by week, level by level — so families can see the journey unfolding.
Through a screen, a child can feel whether a teacher is truly with them. This is harder to articulate than the other three, but it is the one we hold ourselves to most strictly.
MEET THE TEAM
A short introduction from each teacher — voice, sometimes video, always honest. Choose the language your family is most comfortable in.

HOW MATCHING WORKS
Most parents do not want to spend an evening comparing teachers. So we don’t ask you to.
When you book a free trial, share your child’s language, level, learning needs, scheduling availability, and any teacher preference. We read every booking personally and propose a suitable teacher.
You meet that teacher in the trial session. If your family is not satisfied with the teaching approach, you may request a teacher change. We will consider the request and propose another suitable teacher subject to availability.
Lesson scheduling and service communication are managed through a parent or guardian. Teachers should not privately contact a child outside the lesson without the parent or guardian’s prior permission and involvement.
Our matching is done by a person at Tarteel House, not by software. It takes a little longer. We believe it matters.
YOUR PREFERENCE
Parents may express a preference, but they do not directly select or reserve a specific teacher.
Tarteel House considers the preference alongside the child’s language, level, learning needs, and scheduling availability before proposing a suitable match.
A specific teacher or schedule cannot be guaranteed. If a preferred teacher is unavailable, we will propose another suitable teacher subject to availability.
BEYOND THE LESSON
EVERY TWO MONTHS
A progress review
Every two months, we invite parents to a 15-minute progress review. If a parent is unavailable or does not want a meeting, we send a visual progress report through WhatsApp instead.
WHEN A STAGE IS COMPLETE
A meaningful certificate
A certificate is issued only after at least 30 lessons, completion of an identifiable learning stage, and the teacher’s confirmation that the stage is complete.
ALWAYS
A long view of the journey
Our teachers do not see lessons as isolated hours. They are building toward something — your child’s relationship with the Qur’an, over months and years.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Your child normally continues with the same dedicated teacher throughout the package. If a change becomes unavoidable, we will discuss the best alternative with you.
Yes. Most of our teachers are women. If your family prefers a female teacher, please mention it on the booking form; we consider the preference as part of matching, subject to availability.
A few of our teachers prefer to introduce themselves through voice rather than video, in keeping with their personal practice. We respect this fully. The voice introduction tells you everything you need to know about how they teach.
Every teacher we work with has been spoken with personally, and their teaching background — including who they studied with and where — is verified before they are invited to join. We are a small team and we plan to stay that way, which is what allows us to choose this carefully.
If your family is not satisfied with the teaching approach, you may request a teacher change. We will consider the request and propose another suitable teacher subject to availability; we cannot promise an immediate replacement or the same schedule.
If the teacher or Tarteel House cancels or changes a lesson, it is always rescheduled and never uses the family’s make-up allowance. The new time depends on teacher and family availability and may differ from the original schedule.
The teacher matches the language you choose for the sessions. The child experiences the lesson in their preferred language. The website itself is also available in German and French for parents.
